The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association is excited to announce a free tailgate for all active members of the organization prior to the Golden Eagle football game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015.

The tailgate will be held at the historic Ogletree House from 5 – 7 p.m. and attendees will have access to complimentary beer and wine courtesy of Albert & Associates Architects and Montague, Pittman & Varnado P.A., in addition to heavy hors d’oeuvres, fun and football.

“Tailgating before a home game at The Rock is a large part of the football tradition, and we want to see it continue to grow at Southern Miss,” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Southern Miss Alumni Association, whose team has been working hard to organize the tailgate parties of the upcoming season. “We would like to extend an invitation to all active members of the Association to join us to be a part of the excitement that is sure to lead up to the contest against Mississippi State.”

Kick-off is set for 9 p.m. at M.M. Roberts Stadium on the Hattiesburg campus.

Following the game against Mississippi State, and to celebrate the Golden Eagles first road contest of the 2015 football season, all Southern Miss alumni and fans traveling to San Marcos, Texas, on Sept. 19, are invited to a complimentary pre-game event prior to the game against Texas State, courtesy of Sim-Tex L.P. in Waller, Texas.

Lastly, the Alumni Association will host four Eagle Landing tailgates for fans as they travel to road games in 2015. A significant benefit of membership for the second year in a row, Eagle Landing tailgates will be free to all active members of the Alumni Association.

The organization will host Eagle Landing tailgates prior to games against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Charlotte 49ers, Rice Owls and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Events will begin two-and-a-half hours before kickoff. Admission is only $10 for alumni who are not current members of the Association and children 10 and under enter free. The Alumni Association will provide a family-friendly atmosphere that will serve as the primary tailgate location for Southern Miss alumni and fans to gather prior to each game.

For more information on the events listed above or to join the Alumni Association to take advantage of these and other great benefits of membership today, visit www.SouthernMissAlumni.com.
