Good news for our Magee schools!
The Mississippi Department of Education has released the 2025–2026 school accountability ratings, and all three Magee schools have shown improvement!
Magee Elementary School earned a C, Magee Middle School earned a D, and Magee High School earned a C.
One of the biggest improvements came from Magee Middle School, which increased its accountability score by an impressive 84 points!
The Simpson County School District received an overall C rating, with an accountability score of 597.
Other schools in the district received the following ratings: Mendenhall Elementary, C; Mendenhall High, C; and Simpson Central, D.
I know there is still work to be done, but I believe improvements deserve recognition. Our teachers, administrators, staff, and students work hard every day, and it’s encouraging to see progress.
Congratulations to everyone who has worked toward improving education in Simpson County!
Let’s keep moving forward!
