West Jones jumped out to an early lead against Simpson and never looked back Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in a 7-1 loss for the Cougars.

West Jones scored on a double in the first inning and a sacrifice fly in the second.

Simpson struggled defensively and at the bats on the day.

Kris Riley was credited as the winning pitcher for West Jones and Caleb Garner was credited as the loosing pitcher for the Cougars.

Anderew Smith, Noach Magee, Bowen Kelly and Caleb Garner all managed one hit on the day.

Cougars will regroup and prepare for next game.

Simpson defeated Newton Academy by a score of 4-1.

Simpson took the lead late in the game. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the firth when Lawton Kennedy singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Mason Kennedy earned the win for the Cougars at the mound. Kennedy surrendered one run on five hits, striking out eight.
