Simpson Sweeps Magee with Wins Over Varsity and Junior Varsity

Monday, March, 14, 2016 Simpson Academy and Magee High School hit the mound in a friendly game of baseball. A great crowd was on hand to watch.

Simpson came into the game having already played earlier in the day with a successful win over East Rankin 15-5.

Junior Varsity started the night. Simpson would win by a score of 2-1.

As the Varsity game began, both teams were pumped to get started. Simpson would strike first with a 2 runs in the first inning.

DSC_1539Matthew Harrison would hit the mound for the Cougars and do an excellent job. Harrison would leave the Trojans scoreless until the fourth inning allowing only 2 runs.

DSC_1560Dalton Cockrell was the starting pitcher for the Trojans.

Simpson would have success with the bats and were up 8-4 going into the 7th inning.

After seven inning of play, the Cougars would dominate with a score of 11-4.

DSC_1532Both SCA teams, Varsity and Junior Varsity, would defeat the Trojans.

Both schools will continue play against other opponents throughout the week.

Simpson played Tuesday, March 15, 2016 against East Rankin and Presbyterian Christian School.

Cougars won the first game against East Rankin with a score of 4-3, but fell short to Presbyterian Christian with a score of 6-5.

Magee played Tuesday against Presbyterian Christian, as well. The Trojans would not have success against PCS. Trojans fall 12-2.

Spring Break has not been a week of rest and relaxation for these teams…games continue through the weekend.chuckcooper435x150 mobile app
