Sixteenth Section Manager Tom McAlpin reported to the Board that hunting and fishing bids for 16th section land had been opened, and bids had come in much higher than previous years. In fact, most of the bids received were almost double past bids. The bids will be addressed and brought back before the board for approval at the next meeting.

The board approved a timber sale bid for Section 16-1N-3E from South MS Timber, which had placed the highest bid in the amount of $315,000.00.

  • Colony Construction

The board tabled the contract involving Shred – It due to the fact the attorney did not approve the contract because of the cost, as well as the wording.

Ms. Feazell, Principal at Mendenhall High School, presented an overview of using Jumpstart for ACT prep. Ms. Feazell said she is very happy with the program, which has resulted in improved test scores.

The board was presented a startup plan for back to school in the fall. The board approved the plan presented but acknowledged that changes would be expected because of the constant changing of CDC regulations. Amendments and changes will be made as needed.

With no further business, the board entered executive session to discuss a personnel issue and student discipline.
