Irma Lee “Woods” Evans, 89, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 30, at her home in Mendenhall. She was born on June 3, 1937.
Visitation will be held on Friday September 3, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Everett Baptist Church in Mendenhall.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Everett Baptist Church. The Burial will follow in Everett Cemetery in Mendenhall. Bro. Glenn Jennings and Bro. Raymond Jeffcoat will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 847-4401
Mrs. Evans was a member of Everett Baptist Church, and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister. She was an avid fisher who loved gospel music.
She was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wilson Woods and Agnes Velma McMillian Woods; one grandchild, Kenneth Edward McWilliams; brothers, Abner Maylon Woods and Tommy Merill Woods; sister, Rena Ree Woods Gatewood; one great-great granddaughter.
Survivors include her children, Brenda McWilliams (Charles), Byran Evans (Regina), Gail Mullens (Billy), and John (Jody) Evans; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great child.
