LAUREL, Miss. – September 1, 2026 – South Central is proud to welcome nephrologist Muhammad Zatmar Khan, MD, as the newest member of its medical staff.
Muhammad Zatmar Khan, MD, earned his medical degree from Ayub Medical College in Abbottabad, Pakistan, in August 2015. He completed his internal medicine residency at the Central Michigan University College of Medicine in June 2021. Dr. Khan went on to pursue advanced subspecialty training, completing a fellowship in transplant hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in June 2022, followed by a fellowship in nephrology at Virginia Commonwealth University in June 2024.
“I have spent the past six years studying and gaining clinical experience in complex renal and transplant care,” Dr. Khan said. “I am passionate about creating positive patient outcomes through well-researched, collaborative and multidisciplinary treatment plans.”
Dr. Khan joins the medical staff at South Central Nephrology, a recently opened clinic located at 315 South 12th Avenue, Laurel, MS 39440.
The practice is accepting new patients by referral. Patients should obtain a referral from their primary care provider or referring physician before scheduling an appointment.
