Continued information concerning the Camp Shelby incident
A press conference was held Wednesday afternoon concerning gun shots at Camp Shelby.
Alfred Baria,61, drove by the area in question in his maroon truck. Baria was taken into custody for questioning.
Baria is facing two felony charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and four misdemeanor charges for disturbing the peace.
Baria admitted he was the suspect that the police were searching for in the Camp Shelby incident.
The suspect says he did not fire any shots and that the sound was just his truck backfiring.
There is no confirmation that Baria fired a gun. The incident did not happen on Camp Shelby grounds, but just outside the facility on Perot Road, which is off Highway 29.
The investigation is ongoing and has been handed to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
