Simpson Falls Short, Loses to Brookhaven 38-34

The Simpson Academy Cougars lost a tough game against conference opponent Brookhaven Academy on Friday, October 17, 2025. The Cougars fell just short, losing 38-34.

The first quarter showed how close the game would be with no points on the board until just before the end of the quarter. With just about two minutes to go, Brookhaven completed a pass for a touchdown and made the point after, ending the quarter with Brookhaven leading 7-0.

The Simpson Cougars answered quickly in the second quarter and brought the score to 7-7.

About a minute later, Brookhaven scored on a kick return but missed the point after attempt, bringing the score to 13-7 Brookhaven.

Simpson scored twice more in the 2nd quarter, leading Brookhaven 21-13 at halftime.

Early in the third quarter, Brookhaven kicked a field goal, but Simpson answered quickly with a touchdown. After missing the extra point, Simpson led 27-16.

The teams continued to put the points on the board, and Brookhaven scored a touchdown and. a two-point conversion to bring the score to 27-24. Simpson scored again before the end of the quarter, leading 34-24.

Brookhaven took control early in the fourth quarter, scoring twice. Simpson was unable to rally and lost 38-34.
