On Monday, February 24, 2020, several elected Democratic officials announced their change from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party.  The announcement was made at the Mississippi Republican Headquarters.

Officials joining the Mississippi Republican Party include:

Matt Sullivan, District Attorney for the Thirteenth Circuit Court District (Covington, Jasper, Simpson, and Smith Counties)
