Author John Shivers to Appear at Magee Public Library During National Library Week

Author John Shivers to Appear at Magee Public Library During National Library Week

As part of National Library Week, author John Shivers will be featured at the Magee Public Library on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Shivers will begin the event at 10:00 a.m., followed by a hands-on session at 11:00 a.m. where participants will have the opportunity to create their own fictional character. He will also read selections from his most recent book, Hysterical Preservation.

Shivers, who decided at the age of 11 that he wanted to become a writer, has published 33 books since 2004. His first work, Hear My Cry, marked the beginning of a prolific writing career. His upcoming book, Jaynesville, is set in Simpson County. Six of his published works are based in Mississippi.

The public is invited to attend and meet the author between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Magee Public Library.
