Senator Lydia Graves Chassaniol, R-Winona, was named Mississippi Farm Bureau’s “Friend of Agriculture,” during their December 8, 2019 Annual Conference.

Senator Chassaniol accepted the award from Farm Bureau President Mike McCormick, and her longtime friend, Betty Mills head of the Women’s Branch of Farm Bureau.

The Friend of Agriculture Award recognizes a Mississippi lawmaker or statewide-elected official who through their service, has supported and helped advance agriculture in the state by helping farmers, ranchers, and rural Mississippians reach new markets or benefit from a lawmakers actions or service.

Senator Chassaniol, Chairman of the Senate Tourism Committee, has successfully authored, introduced and seen through the legislative process many bills that benefited businesses including farms, ranches and entrepreneurers whose products gained greater market exposure and enlarged their consumer base because of her efforts.
