SEMPRA continues support to Simpson County School District
Herman Duckworth, Plant Superintendent of MS HUB, Inc., presented the Simpson County School District with a check to continue their support for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) initiatives at Magee High School and the Simpson County Technical Center. The funds have been directed to the STEM class at Magee High School taught by Donny Corkern, who has used the money to purchase new computer technology and software and introduce the latest technology involving robotics and drones to his students. At the Technical Center, the funds are used in the Polymer Science lab taught by Dr. David Nicolas, where students are learning the chemical properties of plastics and the uses for those products.
Superintendent Greg Paes commented that the ongoing support of SEMPRA and MS HUB, Inc. have been an invaluable resource to the students in our district who are focusing on science and technology and learning how math and engineering can be a part of their career path in the future. Accepting the check from Herman Duckworth on behalf of the District is Associate Superintendent Dr. Tom Duncan.
