Simpson Academy has named Carey Crain Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Coach Carey Crain is replacing his father, Coach James Crain, who won 1038 games in his career at Mendenhall High School, Hillcrest Christian School, and Simpson Academy.

Coach James Crain has built Simpson into one of the best programs in the MAIS. Coach James Crain’s team won the State Championship last year for his 1000th win. That could have been enough to step down, but this year his team won State and the first Overall State Championship in school history. Coach James Crain has accomplished about all there is to accomplish in high school basketball, so there isn’t a better time to step down.

Coach Carey Crain has established himself as a very successful junior high coach at Hillcrest Christian School, Mendenhall High School, and Simpson Academy. Coach Carey Crain’s teams are regularly competing for conference championships. Coach Carey Crain knows the system better than anybody, not only was he a star player at Mendenhall High School but he has been an assistant coach for his father for several years. Simpson Academy is blessed to have such a capable person to replace someone with the legacy of Coach James Crain.
