Senator Andy Berry on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, led presentation of Senate Resolution 32, to the Simpson Academy Lady Cougars Softball Team and Head Coach Matt Harrison for winning the MAIS 4A Division I State Softball Championship with their October 12, 2025, victory over Parklane Academy 6-4 in the deciding Game 3 of the best-of-three series for the MAIS Class 4A Division 1 State Softball Championship at the Magee Sportsplex. Assistant Coaches Ben Coney and Michael Harrison were also present.

The team roster is Danni Cooper, Tinsley Aldridge, Gracie Pinkerton, Lucy Walker, Jadyn Sanford, Kylin Chisholm, Miley Massey, Hudson Emrich, Edyn Guidroz, Mollie Murphy, Aniston Bass, Paxtyn Collins, Abra Presley, Mallory Duncan, Brecken Collins, Maggie Duncan, Madisyn Hankins, Caroline Lewis, Ava Kate Maddox, Sydnie Bass, Jayda Smith, Stella Steed, and Annmarie Blakeney; Head Coach Matt Harrison; and Assistant Coaches Ben Coney and Michael Harrison.
