Sammy Carrol Atchley, 75 of Taylorsville, MS passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at his residence in Taylorsville, MS. He was born Sunday, February 13, 1949 in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Taylorsville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 03, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Fellowship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Bro. Billy Purser and Bro. Rudy Jackson will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

  Mr. Sammy served in the U.S. Army for two terms. He also served two tours of duty in Vietnam and Korea. He loved to fish and be outdoors and he will greatly be missed by his family and friends.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Eva Mathis Atchley;  brothers, James  Matthew  Atchley and Charles  Atchley, Jr.;  sister, Johnnie  Ruth  White.

  Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Ann Wilson; brother, Bobby  Atchley; sisters, Joyce  Ann  Tanner  (Jerry), Patty Jean Pitts;  and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.

  Pallbearers will be Ellis Ray Gambrell, Jeff Williamson, Phil Fortune, Kevin Ainsworth, Jack Purser, Wesley Thomas, and Michael Middleton.
