Robert O. Austin, 75, of Magee, Mississippi, passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at his home. He was born Saturday, February 2, 1946, in Smith County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi, and on Sunday, April 25, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Douglas Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

Mr. Austin was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his loving family and friends.  He was known as a person who never met a stranger.  He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlene Smith Austin; parents, Robert Oliver Austin and Zona Mae Austin Craft; and one sister, Odelia Austin Williams.

Survivors include one daughter, Sonya Taylor and husband, Mike, of Collins; one son, Robert Austin, Jr. and wife, D’Aundra, of Magee; four grandchildren, Dana Burnham and husband, Zack, of Collins, Jamy Barnes of Gulfport, Matt Barnes and wife, Mica, of Mize, and Chloe Layne Austin of Magee; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Matt Barnes, Zack Burnham, Todd Austin, Danny Austin, Chris Dukes, and Bobby Arrans.
