The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is investigating measles exposure in Hattiesburg from an out-of-state traveler. A Tennessee resident, now diagnosed with measles, traveled through the state from April 9 to 11 while infectious. This individual was not vaccinated against measles.
Mississippians who may have been exposed and who have not been vaccinated against measles need to take immediate precautions.
If you were at either of the locations below during the specified dates and times, you may have been exposed to measles. If so, make sure that you and your family are up-to-date on vaccinations, monitor for measles symptoms, and if symptoms do appear, call your physician or local emergency room before going to make sure the facility can make proper arrangements to avoid further spread of the illness.
