Obituary of Raymond Clifton Grace

Raymond “Ray” Clifton Grace 1936-2021

Ray was born May 21, 1936 in Meridian, Mississippi to Nola and MN Grace. Ray grew up in Mississippi where he attended Co-Lin Jr. College as a student athlete participating in baseball, tennis and track. He received his accounting degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Upon graduating, he served our country in the Army and Army Reserves. After completing his service, Ray accepted a job with Exxon (Humble Oil and Refining) in 1961, where he worked for 35 years.

Ray, affectionately called “Pops” or “Paw Paw”; dearly loved his family and friends. He coached his son’s baseball teams becoming an avid baseball fan. He followed his son (Michael) in the professional ranks. Ray took great joy in being with his grandkids and attending their events; volleyball, dance, band and swimming. Ray also enjoyed golf, horseshoes, ping pong, darts, washers and shuffleboard with his buddies.

He is survived by his wife Patsy of 32 years; sister Linda Jo, son Kenny and wife, Susie; their two daughters; Sarah (husband Alden and children Cliff, Brooke and Reed) and Rebecca (husband Nick); son Michael and wife Holly; their three daughters; Jordan (husband Kenny and children Luke and Ben), Lindsey (husband Josh), and Kalynn; stepdaughters Karen (husband James and children Lydia, Matthew, Micah and Lauren), Cristy (husband Mike and children Gabe, Hunter and Luke); nieces and nephews: Greg, Kim, Leslie, Paula and David. He is preceded in death by his brother Jerry and his parents.
