For folks living in the City of Magee  near 5th Avenue experienced a power outage beginning around 2:30 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

According to Police Chief Shane Little, an 18 wheeler pulled the power lines down which caused the light pole to snap.  The driver stated he had gotten lost or turned around while trying to follow GPS.  Entergy was on site for several hours.  Power was restored around 7:00 PM

My mercy, we can’t live without AC.  Seems anyone affected by the outage was on FaceBook begging for power!

Often, I just take our Entergy people for granted.  These guys have a tough and dangerous job.  It’s days like yesterday that makes me appreciate their serves even more!

Off the subject

We are a fussing bunch of folks!  We fuss because the roads are awful…then we fuss because the roads are being repaired!  As in life, you can’t make everyone happy.

While I am on a roll, please know the city knows about the holes in the parking lot at Auto Zone.  Shane Steele, our code enforcement guy, has contacted the owners who live in New York.  Actually, Shane works through a real estate agency in Jackson for help.

Please! Please! Please!  If you have a problem with something in the city, let them know!  Go by City Hall and pick up a complaint form.  Contact your alderman.  Don’t be all talk…let us know!

I hope you have a wonderful day.  The Aldermen are meeting at 4:30 today (Thursday) continuing to work on the budget.  The public is invited.
