The 98th Simpson County Superbowl is in the books.
In Friday’s non-league rival match, the Mendenhall Tigers won by a score of 34-0 over the Magee Trojans.
The first touchdown of the evening came when Mendenhall’s Tayton James connected with Chance Barron on a passing touchdown. Mendenhall never looked back. The Tigers held the Trojans scoreless. The score headed into halftime was Mendenhall 14 Magee 0.
Tigers increased the lead in the 3rd quarter adding another touchdown. At the end of the 3rd quarter Tigers were on top by a score of 21-0. Tigers added more points in the 4th quarter to bring the final score 34-0.
The Tigers earned bragging rights for the next year.
The Trojans 1-1 on the season will now prepare for their non conference match against Florence. The Eagles enter the non-league match with a 2-0 record. In their last game Florence dominated over Richland by a score of 42-0.
Game time is 7:30 at Trojan Field.
