The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Acts 2:38: “And Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'” The apostle Peter by this time spoke with authority and firm conviction. He told all who would listen that Jesus Christ had died for the sins of the world. Anyone who believed and repented would be forgiven and would receive the gift of salvation. He asked that they be baptized, as Christ had been baptized, to show outwardly that their sins had been washed away. As an added bonus, they would be filled with the Holy Spirit to help guide and comfort them in their journey which we call sanctification. Salvation is offered freely, and Jesus says, “Whosoever will, let him come.” If you have not made this life-changing decision, please consider it. Today is the accepted time. Amen!
