Although the city budget will not be approved until the September 13, 2022 Board of Aldermen meeting, a public hearing was held at the beginning of Tuesday night’s board meeting.

Brett Duncan, financial advisor, presented the budget to the public.

1.  City Hall Roof—$125,000

2.  Across the board raises to all employees of approximately 3%

3.  $54,625 purchase of new Ford Super Duty (Street Department)

4.  Water Department:

      A.  Limb truck to be financed with 4 equal payments of $50,000

      B.  Ditch Witch outright purchase of $42,780

5.  Parks and Recreation:

     A.  35’ Scissor Lift—-$20,000 (General Fund)

     B.  Marvin Jackson Park—$55,000 (Recreation Fund)

     C.  Sports-flex Improvements —$55,000 (Recreation Fund)

6.  Airport—Local Jet A Fuel System —$10,500

7.  Fire Department—$49,817 (Which includes an additional $25,000 for   

     Code enforcement and property cleanup)

8.  Police Department—$92,900 (Two patrol cars)

9.  Christmas Decorations —$10,000

The full budget will be approved on September 13, 2022 and go into effect on October 1, 2022.
