Mary Ainsworth

Mary Ainsworth, 84, of Boyle, MS went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 4, 2022.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Magee City Cemetery in Magee, MS.

Mary was born September 4, 1938, to James and Reatha Sullivan in Magee, MS.  She attended school in Magee, MS, and later married William Spurgeon Ainsworth August 4, 1956, in Magee, MS.  Mary owned Designer Pockets where she managed and sold women’s clothing.  Mary also owned and managed a Christmas decoration store on Cotton Row in Cleveland, MS.  Mary appeared in Southern Living Magazine.  She attended Boyle Baptist Church.  Mary enjoyed playing cards, but most of all she loved her children and especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded by her parents, James and Reatha Sullivan; husband, Spurgeon Ainsworth; daughter, Diane Makamson; son, Todd Ainsworth; brother, Billy Sullivan.

Mary is survived by her grandsons, Jason Makamson (Mary Michael) and Jonathan Makamson (Sarah); great grandchildren, Sarah Hardin and William Makamson; sister, Shirley Purser; brother, Buddy Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the American Cancer Society.
