Magee FFA Growing the Next Generation of Leaders Who Will Change the World
“Growing the next generation of leaders who will change the world”—that statement isn’t just a slogan. It’s a reality for students involved in the Magee High School FFA program.
FFA, known nationally as the National FFA Organization, is the premier youth organization preparing members for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. While many still associate FFA with farming alone, the organization has grown into something much bigger—developing young leaders across a wide range of career fields.
Magee High School FFA students are living proof of that mission in action.
Recently, Magee FFA members traveled to Jackson to participate in FFA Day at the Capitol on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The visit provided students with a firsthand look at government, leadership, and advocacy—giving them the opportunity to see how agriculture and policy work hand in hand at the state level.
FFA is a dynamic organization focused on more than just classroom learning. Through hands-on experiences, competitions, leadership training, and community involvement, students gain real-world skills that prepare them for success long after graduation.
Members of FFA are not limited to one path. Today’s FFA students are tomorrow’s farmers, veterinarians, scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, government officials, and business leaders. The program helps students discover their talents while building confidence, responsibility, and leadership ability.
FFA is considered an intracurricular student organization, meaning it is fully integrated into agricultural education programs. Along with classroom instruction and supervised agricultural experiences, FFA serves as one of the three essential components of agricultural education.
The letters “FFA” originally stood for Future Farmers of America, a name rooted in tradition and heritage. While the organization has expanded far beyond its original scope, those letters remain a symbol of its rich history and lasting impact.
At Magee High School, the FFA chapter continues to make a difference—not only in the lives of students but in the community as well. These young people are learning what it means to lead, to serve, and to prepare for a future full of opportunity.
