Magee wins their first district game of the season by beating Yazoo County by a score of 16-1. Adam May was the winning pitcher with 5 strikeouts on 40 pitches thrown in the 3 innings played. Yazoo Co. would score their only run in the top of the first inning on a HBP, Passed ball and then an error. Magee answered back scoring 3 in the bottom of the first when Cayden Bridges would leadoff the bottom half with a triple followed by back to back doubles by Chandler Pittman and Adam May. Magee had a huge inning in the bottom of the second scoring 8 runs on hits by Bridges, May, and Matthew Russell. Magee would add 5 more runs in the bottom of the third inning with hits by Bridges and back to back doubles by Pittman and May. Cayden Bridges led the night offensively going 3-3 with 3 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. Chandler Pittman was 2-2 with 2 doubles with a RBI, Adam May was 3-3 with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs. Jordan Magee and Matthew Russell would each have a hit.

Junior Varsity got its first win as well by a score of 11-10. Antoney Barnes and Carson Harper each had doubles and J’Kwon Gregory and Ty West each had a triple. Dawlson Garner also had a hit. Antoney Barnes ended up being the winning pitcher.
We swung the bats extremely well tonight. It all started at BP today when we talked about “Owning the 17”, which is home plate, and the guys were very focused and making adjustments swinging and taking advice given from the scouts that show up. Junior Varsity got a walkoff win so that excitement carried over to the Varsity game. We have to continue to improve every week but it was overall a game to show how good we really can be.
