Livingston Willis “PeeWee” Mangum, 62 of Magee, MS lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his residence in Magee, MS. He was born Wednesday, October 31, 1962 in Mendenhall, MS.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, MS. An additional Visitation will be held on Friday, May 09, 2025 from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 09 at 1:00 pm at Mendenhall City Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Ronald Kelly will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401
PeeWee was Magee’s mascot, everyone knew him and loved him. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a friend to everyone he met. He loved life, people, and even though he struggled during his life, he never complained. He always had a positive attitude and his famous quote was “This won’t get me down”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Mangum, Sr.; mother, Maxie Dunaway Mangum; brothers, Homer Mangum, Jr. and Charlie Mangum; sister, Deborah Kay Tullos.
Survivors include his sisters, Maxine Kelly (Ronald), Barbara Riley (Clifton), Betty Craft (Jeff); sweet friend, Stephanie; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and his extended Boswell family.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Boyles, John Loud, Isaac Sanderford, Kenny Roberts, John Craft, and Hunter Emfinger.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Turnage, Noah Sanderford, Davey Rather, Aaron Sanderford, and Robby Kinsey.
