Katie Mae Shows, 77 of Mendenhall, MS passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Friday, November 22, 1946 in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. An additional visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee with funeral services at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Old Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, Mississippi. Bro. Michael Bradley and Bro. Robert Sones will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lona Gerome Shows; parents, Helen (Boone) Sanders (William Leon Sanders) and William H. (Bill) Blackwell; grandchildren, Michael Gene Watson and Kristen Hamby.
Survivors include her children, Susan Carol (Brown) Chapman, Anita Marie (Brown) Hamby and James Odis Brown; grandchildren, Joshua Hamby, Kayla Norris, Rebecca Hamby, Mason Brown and Barrett Brown; 4 great- grandchildren; sister, Joyce B. Croxton; brother, Ralph Sanders.
Pallbearers will be Chris Caughman, Joshua Hamby, Barrett Brown, Elisha Thompson, J.C. Bowman, and Mason Brown.
