Katherine Runnels McCarley, 97, of Magee, MS, passed away on March 10, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. She was born December 2, 1928, in Gulfport, MS.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 2:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, MS. Burial will follow at Magee City Cemetery.

Katherine was a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi where she was a founding member of Kappa Delta Sorority. For many years, with husband Kendrick McCarley, she helped run McCarley Furniture. Katherine was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Magee. She enjoyed painting, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kendrick McCarley and her sister, Adva Jean Volle.

Survivors include her two children, Ken McCarley (Dawn) of Madison, MS and Connie McCarley of Ocean Springs, MS; two grandchildren, Even McCarley of Jackson, MS and Austin McCarley (Charlotte) of Knoxville, TN; two great grandchildren, Fletcher McCarley and Declan McCarley; two sisters, Mary Jo Wedgeworth of Long Beach, MS and Virginia Burchfield of Wiggins, MS.
