Joyce Hinton May, 75 of Pearl, formerly of Mendenhall, MS, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at her residence in Pearl, MS. She was born Saturday, July 15, 1950, in Mendenhall, MS.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall, 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, MS, and again on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 11:00 am until the service at 12:00 pm at Athens Baptist Church in Mendenhall, MS. Burial will follow in Athens Baptist Church Cemetery in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Josh Hollingsworth will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Joyce was a faithful member of Athens Baptist Church in Mendenhall. She worked as a teller for over 25 years until she retired from People’s Bank. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. May; father, W. H. Hinton, Jr.; and mother, Eva Jean Hinton.

Survivors include her daughters, Angelia L. May and Amanda May Baldwin (Jeffrey); son, Justin W. May; sisters, Marilyn Rutland and Sandra Prestwood (Steve); brother, Phil Hinton (Susan); grandchildren, Callee Baldwin, Carson Baldwin, and William Tate May; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Baldwin, Jared Skinner, Billy George Powell, Phil Hinton, Joey Rankin, Carson Baldwin, Craig Prestwood, and Randy Rankin.

Special music will be performed by Whitney Bowen.
