Jennifer Stephens, formerly of Smith County, has joined Magee General Hospital as Chief Nursing Officer. Jennifer is in full swing with the pandemic and changes at MGH.
MGH administered 500 COVID-19 vaccines last week to area residents who didn’t even have to get out of their car! Jennifer and her team coordinated a drive through line near the old lobby entrance. The public will be notified as soon as additional vaccine is received.
The Outpatient Clinic has moved to the Main Hospital. Patients will enter from the north end of the hospital (the back near the helicopter pad). Anyone entering MGH is checked for COVID symptoms.
MGH now has a 3 D mammogram machine which is one of the few in the southern part of the state. Most of your wellness needs can be done at Magee General Hospital.
The “Bam” infusion is available at Magee Hospital. The infusion needs to be taken following a positive COVID test. There is a limited number and certain criteria must be met to receive the infusion.
Mrs. Stephen emphasized the importance of not waiting if someone does not feel well. “We find people putting off coming to the ER or doctor when they don’t have COVID…don’t do that! Visit your doctor,” stated Jennifer.
