James F. Walker (Jimmy) went to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He was born on June 12, 1941, to the late James Miles and Mildred (Griffith) Walker of New Hebron, Mississippi.
Jimmy attended The University of Southern Mississippi on a basketball scholarship from 1960 – 1964. He was co-owner of Laurel Mud and Chemical Company, where he worked as a chemical engineer in the oil field.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patti (Pickett) Walker; daughters, Linda Ishee (Brad), Becky Harrison (Robert); sister, Kay Vince (Robert); three grandchildren, Braden Ishee, Bryce Ishee and Walker Phillips.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Walker.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Jay Wesbrooks will officiate.
Pallbearers are Keith Williamson, Larry Williamson, Lyle Hubbard, Brad Ishee, Braden Ishee, Bryce Ishee, Walker Phillips and Jason Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
