Special prayers for the family of Francis Gordon. Mrs. Francis died Sunday night…she was 98 years old! Her children, Carol, Connie, and Van have been faithfully by her side during the years she has lived at Lakeview Assisted Living.
I’m always sad when one of my mother”s friends dies…it just takes you back to the years of being blessed with many “mamas.” Please remember the family. I will post the obituary when it becomes available.
A personnel change at the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department…Under Sheriff Richard Harper is no longer with the department. Sheriff Donald O’Cain will be appointing a replacement in the near future.
Greg Harper visited Magee early Monday morning. Greg came to Zip’s for a 7:30 breakfast with Simpson County Development Foundation members and county officials. Harper emphasized the need to be aware of what is happening in Washington and the need to work together to achieve our goals.
Well, our law enforcement got the third escaped prisoner! Johnny Lee Taylor was hiding in a trailer on Mangum Garner Road in Simpson County. Following Taylor’s arrest, the three people who were in the house were also taken to jail. A citizen’s tip led to the discovery of Taylor.
