By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in Romans 5:5: “Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” The early disciples of Christ are here being told that they have hope through the work of the Holy Spirit. God’s love covers them continuously, and the Holy Spirit will be their guide, comforter, and stay. They need never fear, because God will never leave them or forsake them. We, too, can have that same assurance if we put our trust in Jesus and obey his commands. “Our hope is built on nothing less,” as the old hymn proclaims.
As we go about our routine today, let’s share and spread the love, joy, and kindness God shares with us. There’s so much hurt and disappointment in our world, but we can make a difference. Speak words of comfort to those with whom we come in contact. Those words just might turn someone’s life around. Have a wonderful and happy Wednesday!
