I have a special 4th of July this year! My granddaughters, Larkin and Harleigh, are visiting me for a week. That is correct…a week! I’ve never even kept them for a weekend! Sure, I filled my purse with toy trucks and cars…but the girls remembered their mermaid dolls just as we left for church. I’m getting there…having girls is fun! Poor Harleigh has the ear ache. Because I had ear ache as a child, I am very sympathetic for anyone suffering from ear problems! Of course, Harleigh doesn’t feel well…she doesn’t want me to far away. Larkin would live in the pool. Keeping Harleigh out for a few days is quite a task. Earlier this morning, Harleigh was suffering with her ear (parents left meds). Now, ya’ll, I had forgotten you couldn’t even go to the bathroom when you have little ones! As I “sat” in the bathroom with Harleigh on my lap, I couldn’t help but laugh…how funny I looked…how was I gonna do this…but most of all how miserable this little 3 year old was! I looked at the mothers at church…and thought, bless you. We tend to forget what these parents go through to get their familes to church.
While I’m on a “me” roll, my computer that just got repaired last week has died again. I think I am going to die. I almost can’t fight the downloads, uploads again. With little girls and crazy computers, you may not hear as much from me! Figuring out how I am going to make this work is quite a challenge.
Don’t forget Fireworks at the Sportplex Tuesday night at dusk. The City of Magee always does such a good job with the fireworks display. The event is always well attended. I hope I can get Larkin and Harleigh buckled and unbuckled to get to the Sportsplex before midnight!
Enjoy your holiday. How thankful I am for the men and women who serve and have served our country. God bless America.
Special prayers for the Larry Clark family (Judy Polk). Larry, who was the attorney for the school board for many years (not now), suffered a massive heart attack. Please pray for Larry, Judy and the girls. Larry is Mrs. Edith Polk’s son-in-law.
