Governor Tate Reeves, Attorney General Lynn Fitch, and Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell will co-host the Second Annual Mississippi Public Safety Summit on May 20-22, 2024, at The Refuge in Flowood, Mississippi.
“The Mississippi Public Safety Summit is a great way to highlight the incredible work of our state’s law enforcement officers, first responders, and prosecutors,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “These public servants courageously serve Mississippians every single day, and it’s an honor to recognize their selfless sacrifice. Mississippi will always be grateful to them and their families.”
“Every day, brave and dedicated men and women serve our communities as first responders, prosecutors, and law enforcement,” said Attorney General Lynn Fitch. “They are the bedrock of our State, providing stability, comfort, and security. The Mississippi Public Safety Summit is about taking care of their needs, giving them tools to become better leaders, helping them navigate their common challenges, and recognizing their outstanding service.”
“Hosting the Mississippi Public Safety Summit again this year is truly an honor. Our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and prosecutors play vital roles in ensuring the safety of our state and its citizens,” said Mississippi Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. “Their dedication and sacrifice is commendable, and I’m grateful for the chance to come together, collaborate, build and create relationships, and support their crucial work.”
Like last year, the 2024 Summit will bring together state and local law enforcement, prosecutors, and first responders from across our state to discuss the challenges facing public safety and criminal justice networks and hear from speakers to help find solutions. The inaugural Mississippi Public Safety Summit drew more than 300 attendees from across the State. Highlights of this year’s agenda include:
  • Organized Retail Crime with Sean Browne, Supervisor of Asset Protection Investigations for Home Depot
  • Mass Attacks in Public Spaces with Robert Grooms, Domestic Security Strategist for the U.S. Secret Service
  • LEAPS with Tim Rutledge, Director of Law Enforcement Alliance for Peer Support
  • De-Escalation with Matt Campbell, FBI Special Agent (ret.)
In addition, Governor Reeves, General Fitch, and Commissioner Tindell will present awards for the First Responder of the Year, Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Firefighter of the Year, and Prosecutor of the Year as nominated by their peers. The full agenda can be found at www.MSPublicSafetySummit.com, along with information on registration, lodging, and more.
This year, there is no registration cost for attendees. Sponsorship information is also available on the website for community organizations and businesses that want to support the 2024 Mississippi Public Safety Summit.
