The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) is pleased to announce that The Honorable Governor Tate Reeves has appointed Colin Maloney from Tupelo and Todd Hairston from Gulfport to the Commission on Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. Maloney will represent the 1st Congressional District, and Hairston will represent the 5th Congressional District. These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Senate.
Colin Maloney, a lifelong resident of Tupelo, Mississippi, is the founder and CEO of Century Construction Group, with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He is also a graduate from Mississippi College.  Maloney’s adventurous spirit has taken him from hiking 21 miles in Wyoming to competing in the Baja 1000 in Mexico. Yet, he remains dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Mississippi. Maloney’s involvement as one of the founding board members of the Mississippi Outdoor Stewardship Trust Fund has given him the opportunity to support conservation efforts across the state. As an avid hunter, angler, mountain biker, water skier, and overall adventure seeker, Maloney has a heightened appreciation for the great outdoors.
Todd Hairston, born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, is a seasoned environmental professional with a deep passion for the outdoors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Delta State University and has resided on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the past 20 years. Currently, he is a Managing Principal at Covington Civil & Environmental, LLC in Gulfport, specializing in engineering and environmental consulting. Hairston leads government relations and business development at the firm, applying his extensive knowledge to advance their mission. He, his wife Lacey, and their three daughters are active members of the Gulfport community, committed to environmental stewardship and conservation.
“We are pleased to welcome Colin and Todd to MDWFP and look forward to working with them to conserve and enhance Mississippi’s natural resources,” said MDWFP Executive Director, Lynn Posey.
The mission of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is to conserve and enhance Mississippi’s wildlife, fisheries, and parks; provide quality outdoor recreation, and engage the public in natural resource conservation.
