Gloria June Pope, 87 of New Roads, LA went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 12, 2022, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born Saturday, June 29, 1935 in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi. Burial will follow with graveside service at Magee City Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Gary Roberts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031
She was a long time resident of Harriston Mississippi. She was Post Master with the Post Office which was located inside J.W Costly store in Harriston. She was a long time member of Fayette Baptist Church. Later in life she was a resident of Clinton, Mississippi. She later moved to Louisiana with her son. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Pope; son, Michael Finley Pope; father, Keither V. Mangum; mother, Mary Holifield Mangum.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Pope (Natasha) of Weyanoke, LA; one brother, Joe Mangum; two sisters, Mary Alice Mangum Price and Beverly Mangum Royals; two grandsons, Ryan Colter Pope, and Dexter Shane Pope; Karen Pope wife of late Mike Pope, one granddaughter, Audrey Michelle Pope Thompson; six great grandchildren.
