Jo Ann Smith Bedgood
(December 7, 1933 – December 12, 2022)

          Jo Ann Smith Bedgood, 89 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Thursday, December 7, 1933, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

          Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.

          Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Taylorsville, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Brother Rodney Hannah will officiate. Special music will be performed by Mr. Barry Bradshaw.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

          Ms. Jo Ann was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She enjoyed spending time on her house boat, going to Mississippi State baseball games, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her father, Chalmer Eugene Smith; mother, Virgie Elizabeth West Smith; siblings, Janie Vee Smith Ashley, Carmen Elizabeth Smith Yates, and Walter Wilson Smith.

          Survivors include her one son, William Michael Bedgood of Little Rock, AR; one grandson, William Wilder Bedgood of Little Rock, AR; two siblings Bonnie Jean Smith Temple of Taylorsville, MS, Chalmer David Smith (Deloris) of Mize, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

          The family would like to say a special thanks to Jasper General Nursing Station Two for all of the loving care that they provided and showed to Jo Ann.
