The Mississippi State Department of Health tracks flu in Mississippi by monitoring reports of influenza-like illness (ILI) from healthcare providers around the state. The statewide ILI rate has jumped sharply as of November 11, meaning the risk of contracting flu is also rising. As the holidays near, stay protected against the flu by getting a flu shot, washing your hands frequently and thoroughly, and staying home if you’re sick.
