(September 1, 1935 – October 22, 2021)
Dorothy Sullivan Roberts, 86, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee, Mississippi. She was born Sunday, September 1, 1935, in Magee, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 25, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Bro. David McCord will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery in Magee. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mrs. Roberts was a devoted member of her church. She loved to attend church as well as watching it on T.V. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a beautiful Christian woman who loved her family and devoted her life to taking care of her husband, Paul, and her son, Glen, until she no longer could. She and Paul owned and operated Paul’s Appliance Store in Gulfport, MS, for many years. She enjoyed working with her plants, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Paul Roberts; parents, Van Sullivan, Sr. and Lucille Sellers Sullivan; one step-son, Jimmy Roberts; three brothers, Thomas Sullivan, J.C. Sullivan, and Ricky Sullivan; three sisters, Jeanette Sullivan, Mary Lou Sullivan, and Ann Nell Sullivan Crenshaw; and one brother-in-law, Jesse Smith.
Survivors include her loving son, James Glen Roberts of Magee; two step-sons, Danny Paul Roberts of Connecticut, and Stevie Roberts of Vardaman, MS; four brothers, Van Sullivan, Jr. and his wife, Margaret, of Mt. Olive, Jimmy Sullivan and his wife, Vickie, of Gulfport, Vernon Sullivan and his wife, Pam, of Magee, and Freddie Sullivan of Magee; three sisters, Bobbie Sullivan McKamy of Dallas, TX, Evelyn Sullivan Smith of Mize, and Chris Sullivan Gaspard and husband, H.J., of Round Rock, TX, one sister-in-law, Melody Sullivan of Terry, MS; two step-granddaughters, Jennifer Roberts Jenkins and her husband, Jared, of Connecticut, and Emily Roberts Wilson and her husband, Jeff, of North Carolina; step-great-grandchildren, Noelle Jenkins, William Wilson, and Mattie Wilson; her dear friend and neighbor of fifty years, Mrs. Pat Warden of Gulfport; and a host of other family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Sullivan, Tommy Sullivan, Josh Pearce, Ben Smith, Weston Smith, and Logan Sullivan. Honorary pallbearer will be H.J. Gaspard.
