(December 28, 1926 – March 8, 2022)

            Doris Jones Jordan Runnels, 95 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at The Arrington Living Center in Collins, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, December 28, 1926, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

            Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.

            Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi.  Brother Matthew Powell will officiate. Special music will be performed by Mrs. Janice Henderson. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

            Mrs. Runnels was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She enjoyed working with her flowers and in her garden, taking care of animals, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She retired from Steven’s Sportwear.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her husband (the father of her children), Leroy Allen Jordan, Sr. and her second husband, Preston Runnels; two sons, Allen Jordan and Ronnie Jordan; father, Frankie Jones; mother, Arizona Robinson Jones; one brother, Buck Jones; three sisters, Madie Walker, Vinnie Mae Owens, and Ruby Walley; and son-in-law, Bill Tubbs.

            Survivors include her son, Rudy Jordan (Debbie) of Taylorsville, MS;  daughters, Regina Jordan Tubbs of Mary Esther, FL and Donna Jordan Revette (Cecil) of Raleigh, MS and Charlotte Jordan Padgett (Michael) of Hattiesburg, MS;  daughter-in-law, Janis Jordan of Taylorsville, MS; step-son, Billy Harold Runnels (Judy) of Collins, MS; step-daughter, Jeanette Runnels Jueckstock (Kyle) of Talladega, AL; grandchild, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

            Pallbearers will be Andrew Jordan, Brandon Jordan, Richard Jones, Trenny Walley, Tim Walker, and Brennan Jordan. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Gunter, Wade Thurmond, and Kevin Tubbs.
