Washington, D.C. – Once again, Congressman Michael Guest (MS-03) voted in favor of including the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in H.R. 2339, a bill related to banning and taxing certain tobacco products, but the amendment was halted by the Democratic majority in the House. Congressman Guest co-sponsored H.R. 962 – Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act when it was introduced in February 2019 and has continued to push for its passage through the House.

“This bill is simple. It would ensure that once a child is born, medical professionals do everything in their power to keep that child alive. Every child has a right to life. I am deeply troubled that Democrats refuse to recognize this simple fact, but I will continue to push for this important piece of legislation so we can protect the lives of innocent children born alive no matter the circumstances,” Guest said.
