Following the special event approvals, the Board conducted a public hearing regarding a request from Donna Magee to rent an accessory building located on her property at 1105 Fourth Street Southeast. The property is located in a residential district zoned for single-family dwellings.
After hearing the matter, aldermen voted 4-1 to uphold the city’s zoning ordinance, thereby denying the request to use the accessory building as a rental. Alderman Jullian Harper cast the lone dissenting vote.
In other business, the Board approved the purchase of a culvert for the Eastside Community. The contract was awarded to NAPA of Magee, the low bidder, for $7,085.89.
With no further business to come before the Board, the special called meeting was adjourned.
The regularly scheduled Board of Aldermen will be held July 21, 2026
