The City of Magee has opened its newly installed playground at the City Park, offering children a fresh and inviting space to play, explore, and enjoy outdoor activity. The upgraded playground features modern equipment and a more inclusive layout, marking another step forward in the city’s commitment to improving recreational facilities for families.

Mayor Mark Grubbs and members of the Board of Aldermen have expressed enthusiasm about the project, noting that updated public spaces contribute to both quality of life and community pride.

However, city officials emphasize that this opening is temporary.

The playground is now open for public use, but it will close again once construction begins on the perimeter fencing. The fence installation is the final phase of the project and is being added for safety, access control, and long-term preservation of the equipment.

City crews and contractors will secure the area before work begins, and the playground will remain closed until the fencing is completed and inspected.

“We’re excited to let the children enjoy the playground while we’re waiting on the next step,” a city representative noted. “Once the fence is in place, the park will be fully complete and ready for full use.”

MageeNews.com will provide updates on construction timing and reopening plans as information becomes available.

For now, families are encouraged to take advantage of the playground’s availability — and enjoy a new chapter of play in the heart of Magee.
