According to Simpson County Circuit Clerk Steve Womack, Chuck Cooper has removed his name for consideration for Justice Court Judge Post 2.
As customary in the insurance and financial services industries, before a candidate can be approved to run for a political office, the compliance departments of these institutions will review if there could ever be a perceived conflict of interest performing the duties of the political office and the professional duties that person has with the institution that person represents. If so, the institution can prohibit their employees/contractors from running for the office. This is why Chuck Cooper has removed his name from the Special Election in November for Justice Court Judge Post 2. He notified Steve Womack’s office on 9/13/2018 to remove his name from the ballot.
Seeking the position of Justice Court Judge Post 2 are : Tracey Brown, Lorie King, and Charles Savell.
The election will be held November 6, 2018.
