Children Center’s Case-Price Selected for 2016 Leadership Pinebelt Class

Sarah Case-Price, director of The Children’s Center for Communication and Development at The University of Southern Mississippi, was recently selected for the Area Development Partnership’s 2016 Leadership Pinebelt class.

Leadership Pinebelt was established in 1989 to train emerging and existing leaders in the Greater Hattiesburg Area. It’s comprised of a diverse network of leaders and community volunteers who are committed to shaping our community both economically and socially while building and shaping their networks.

“I am honored to be selected for this year’s class and am thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside some of Hattiesburg’s best and brightest,” said Case-Price. “As the director of The Children’s Center, this opportunity allows me to grow as a leader in the Pine Belt and it allows me a broader network to help tell the Center’s story.”

Case-Price is a speech-language pathologist, and has served as the director of the Center since 2013. As director, she oversees day-to-day operations of the Center, including fund development and supervision of staff and university students.

Prior, Case-Price spent seven years as a Center staff member providing direct services and providing comprehensive development assessments of infants, toddlers and preschoolers with complex communication and development disabilities.

This year’s class will spend eight months focusing on enhancing leadership skills and garnering a better understanding of the Hattiesburg area in the realm of health care, cultural arts, economic development, military and regional industry. After completion of the program, the class will graduate in October.
