On this part of this series, I, Ian Cowart, want to focus on Magee Chamber of Commerce Board of Director, Lacye Evans.

Lacye runs Alfa Insurance located on downtown Magee and was elected as a Chamber Board of Director this past year. In my opinion, Lacye has been a champion for downtown Magee. This year, Lacye purchased the vacant lot close to Factory Connection and built a built a brand new building for her office. Lacye’s new building will also serve as a two apartment duplex. This is the first time anyone has ever done this on downtown Magee. Lacye’s building will serve as a first of its kind for Magee as well as adding aesthetics with its updated infrastructure.

Lacye has been an awesome addition to the chamber board. Lacye has never missed a meeting or a single event. She was a huge influence in our “Project Downtown” discussions. Given that Lacye has a vested interest in downtown as well as Magee business, her input and ideas were highly valued.

I can honestly say that Lacye has worked her tail off for the Chamber this year. I truly believe that Mrs. Evans is secretly superwoman. From running an insurance agency, building a first of its kind infrastructure on downtown, being a mom and a wife, and contributing the rest of her time and effort to the Chamber and the City of Magee has been impressive to watch.

Lacye is the definition of a go getter. I love putting her on any committee that I can, just because I know things will get done with efficiency and perfection. Lacye helped assign all the vendors for Crazy Day almost a whole month out in advance. She also woke up extra early and worked in the freezing cold along with the rest of the board Crazy Day morning. Lacye was a tremendous help in organizing not just Crazy Day, put the Christmas Parade as well as the upcoming banquet. There were times this year that I felt like I should have just turned over the mantle of president to her.

Lacye and her husband Adam have become some of the best friends I have ever had. I always love hanging out with them because they are some of the most Godly, genuine, humble, and down to earth people I know. Lacye has a huge heart for the City of Magee. This year, I knew that no matter what the challenge or amount of work to be done, Mrs. Evans was going to be there and ready to work. I sincerely hope that Lacye is plugged into more leadership roles. Anyone that knows Lacye will say without question that she is a natural born leader. Lacye’s contributions to the Chamber and the City of Magee go far beyond words. I am grateful not just for her volunteered time, but for being an inspiration to me and so many people this year.

Thank you Lacye for all that you do for the Chamber and the City of Magee.
