Mrs. Cecil Jones entered her heavenly home on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh. She was 83 years old. After suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for many years, her family rests in knowing that her mind, body, and soul have been completely and eternally restored.
Cecil was born to Onis and Dolly Meadows on December 28, 1940 in Mize, MS. She graduated from Mize Attendance Center and went on to work as a Quality Control Supervisor at Magee Apparel for several years. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Mize. Cecil loved spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and supporting her grandchildren in all of their activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Onis and Dolly Meadows, her brothers Gaynel Meadows and Gaddis Meadows, and her sister Novell Grayson.
Cecil is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charlie Jones, her children, Alisa Butler (Ronnie), Teresa Burch (Danny), Dwain Jones (Carrie Jo), and Dusty Jones, her grandchildren, Ryan Butler (Kayla), Russell Butler (Misty), Brittney Butler, Hannah Burch Grissom (Mason), Davin Burch (Carsyn), Holland Jones, Gavin Jones, Janie Jones, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are as follows: Visitation for family and friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 5 o’clock until 9 o’clock in the evening. Funeral on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Concord Baptist Church in Mize. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements 601-849-5031.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh and AccentCare Hospice Services for the outstanding care that they provided to their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
