Bonita Dean Rankin, 89 of Mendenhall, MS passed from her earthly to her heavenly home on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall, MS. She was born Tuesday, March 5, 1935 in Hamburg, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 362 Poplar Springs Rd, Mendenhall, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 12:00pm at Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Tim Parker and Bro. Chris Rankin will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Mrs. Bonita was a lifelong member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she served faithfully. She loved and cared deeply for her church and her church family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother; sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Edward Rankin; father, Mal Allison; mother, Johnnie Dew Allison.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne Rankin (Kay) of Brandon, MS, John Rankin of Mendenhall, MS and Don Rankin (Brenda) of Mendenhall, MS; brother, Vance Allison (Donna); sister, Joann Moffatt; 8 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Rankin, Blake Decker, Connor Rankin, Jace Rankin, Eli Rankin, and Matt Rankin.

Special music will be performed by Brett Lewis.
